Caring for Your Regenerative Cotton Sheets

Caring for Your Regenerative Cotton Sheets

People have treasured the comfort and durability of cotton long before modern laundry conveniences existed.

Our 100% Regenerative Cotton Sheets are woven from Regen-agri certified long-staple cotton that becomes softer with every wash. With thoughtful care, these sheets will serve you beautifully for years to come.

Washing Your Sheets

Should you wash new sheets before use? Absolutely! Always wash your sheets before using them for the first time.

For ongoing care, we recommend washing your sheets weekly in cold or warm water using a gentle cycle. Cold water preserves the fabric quality while reducing energy consumption—better for both the planet and your utility bills. Hot water can break down cotton fibers over time, reducing the lifespan of your sheets.

Choose plant-based detergents that are free from phosphates, synthetic fragrances, and dyes. Skip fabric softener entirely—these products contain harsh chemicals and create a coating on fibers that reduces breathability. Give your sheets plenty of room in the washer. Overcrowding leads to inadequate cleaning and damages the fabric.

Skip the Dry Cleaner

Avoid dry cleaning your regenerative cotton sheets. The chemicals used in dry cleaning processes can weaken cotton fibers and diminish their natural softness over time.

Drying Your Sheets

Hang your sheets to dry naturally if you can, or machine dry on a cool setting. If using a tumble dryer, remove the bedding while it is still a little damp and hang it or lay it flat to complete the drying process. We don’t process our bedding with chemicals to prevent wrinkles, but there are a few (safer!) ways to help reduce them. If fabrics get twisted during the wash cycle, untangle them before they hit the dryer. And as soon as a load finishes—or even when bedding is still slightly damp—remove it from the machine and put it right back on your bed for a smoother look.

Proper Storage

Store your sheets in a cool, dry location to maintain freshness and extend their life. Never store your bedding in plastic bags, and when it is time to use them, air your sheets well before dressing your bed. Each set of our sheets comes in a sustainable storage sack made from 100% regenerative cotton—perfect for keeping your extra bedding organized and breathable when not in use.
